How Do Gene Expression Patterns Change in Response to Osmotic Stresses in Kuruma Shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus)?

چکیده
Euryhaline crustaceans cope with external salinity changes by mechanisms of osmoregulation. In the current study, we first cloned and confirmed ORF sequences ion-transportation-related genes Na+/K+-ATPase ? subunit (NKA?), cytoplasmic carbonic anhydrase (CAc), V-type H+-ATPase G (VHA-G), water channels aquaporins (AQP3, AQP4, AQP11) from kuruma shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus). Further tissue expression patterns showed a higher MjAQP4, MjCAc, MjNKA?, MjVHA-G in gills, as well MjAQP3 MjAQP11 intestine muscle, respectively. Then, qPCR analysis was used to assess mRNA levels those osmoregulatory both post-larvae adult when they were exposed acute stress or acclimation. The results revealed significantly decreased MjAQP3, MjAQP11, MjAQP4 directly subjected 10‰ 50‰ salinity. Moreover, similar also observed during accommodation As shrimp, gills after exposure salinity, whereas only MjNKA? up-regulated at 40‰ contrast, Finally, acclimation elevated, while MjCAc gills. addition, 55‰ findings study suggest that examined are critical for adaptation aquatic changing environmental Our lays foundation further research on osmoregulation M. japonicus.

A filamentous form of mollicute-like bacterium was detected during a routine health survey of wild adult kuruma shrimp Penaeus japonicus. The kuruma shrimp were native to Japan and were imported to Korea. The histology showed no pathological changes. Transmission electron microscopy revealed extensive infections of hepatopancreatic epithelial cells by a pleomorphic, filamentous intracellular ba...
متن کاملExpression of innate immunity genes in kuruma shrimp Marsupenaeus japonicus after in vivo stimulation with garlic extract (allicin)
In recent times, attention has focused on immunostimulants and plant products which could have beneficial effects in disease control. At present, the application of immunostimulants has been considered a more effective approach to health management in aquaculture through the enhancement of immune capability and disease resistance in shrimp. Garlic possesses bactericidal property against bacteri...
متن کاملAntibacterial activity of serine protease inhibitor 1 from kuruma shrimp Marsupenaeus japonicus.
Serine protease inhibitors (Serpins) are a large family of protease inhibitors involved in many critical biological processes such as blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, programmed cell death, development, and innate immunity. We identified MjSerp1, a serpin in the kuruma shrimp Marsupenaeus japonicus. The MjSerp1 cDNA has a 1239 bp open reading frame (ORF) that encodes a 412-amino acid protein wi...
متن کاملRecombinant VP28 Produced by Cell-Free Technique Confers Protection in Kuruma Shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus) Against White Spot Syndrome Virus
Shrimp is one of the most important species in aquaculture. During the last two decades, shrimp culture has been threatened worldwide by viral diseases. A highly pathogenic white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is responsible for huge economic losses in the shrimp culture industry, and no effective treatment is currently available for it (Rajesh Kumar et al., 2008). Cumulative mortalities in infecte...
متن کاملA Galectin from the Kuruma Shrimp (Marsupenaeus japonicus) Functions as an Opsonin and Promotes Bacterial Clearance from Hemolymph
Galectins are a lectin family characterized by a conserved sequence motif in the carbohydrate recognition domain, which preferential binds to galactosyl moieties. However, few studies about the biological roles of galectins in invertebrates have been reported except for the galectin (CvGal1) from the eastern oyster Crassostrea virginica. Furthermore, galectins have been described in only a few ...
